Story sponsored by Marquam Hill Ranch. Tour Marquam Hill Ranch and learn about alpacas, their fiber and how you can have an alpaca too.

It's all about alpacas at Marquam Hill RanchBill and Jennifer Cameron are passionate about alpacas. The owners of Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch bought their first group of alpacas in 2005 after two years of research. The Camerons now own over 80 Huacaya alpaca on 18 acres in Molalla. They offer tours by reservation and love to educate people about alpaca ownership, animal care, their fiber and alpaca products.

A treat for children and adults, tours of the Marquam Hill Ranch last about an hour and include learning about and feeding these adorable creatures. When the tour is over, visit the 24 X 48 foot retail shop that "has tons of different products," according to Cameron.

The shop stocks yarn, rugs and dryer balls made from fiber produced by the Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch. Cameron says the bestselling items are socks, followed by scarves, hats, gloves and rugs. The shop also carries products from other sources. Bill travels to Peru to work with manufacturers to develop alpaca products or buy directly from them.

Alpaca fiber is soft, warm and light weight. The Camerons breed their alpacas for fineness with a soft hand and good density.

The Alpacas at Marquam Hill Ranch welcomes everyone to learn about alpacas, their fiber and products. They sell $5.00 bags of grain, if you come without reservations to feed the animals. The barn has concrete floors, level and clean. The ranch even has pigs who love to eat pumpkins. Bring the family to see and learn about these loveable animals.
