Ann Hamilton's second solo exhibition, "Sense," installation and works on paper, shows at Elizabeth Leach Gallery, 417 N.W. Ninth Ave., through Dec. 30. It's new work in conjunction with the release of her book "Sense," and continues her affinity for human and nonhuman touch as with leaves and stones.

"I gently place my brain in cold rice," showing through Jan. 8, is the first exhibition in the eight-artist Home School's curatorial residency at Oregon Contemporary, 8371 N.
