Mileage is almost the same.Among the many hybrid compact SUVs on the market, the Nissan Rogue Hybrid stands out for its excellent fuel economy and value. This model returns up to 33 miles of city driving and 35 miles of highway driving on a gallon of gas.

The engine in the Rogue Hybrid is a two-liter four-cylinder rated at 141 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque. Adding the power of the 30KW electric motor, you get 176 total system horsepower. The transmission is Nissan's XTronic continuously variable unit, and you can choose between front-wheel or all-wheel-drive. Choosing all-wheel-drive costs you 2 miles per gallon in city driving and 1 mile per gallon in highway driving, but in Portland it's still a popular option and a good idea.
