Charges filed after man climbs into girl's bedroom window
Washington County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man after he was allegedly caught climbing into a seven-year-old girl's bedroom window.
Kord Tyler Knudsen, 30, now faces charges of second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.
Authorities say Knudsen climbed into the window of an apartment at the Court Yards at Springville, 17618 N.W. Springville Rd., around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2. "The father of the girl woke up to the sounds of his daughter screaming," officers say.
The father rushed to the bedroom, so Knudsen started to crawl back out the window, and then attempted to run away, according to police. Kudsen was apparently still wet from using a nearby hot tub.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the Bethany area complex and found a wallet on a plasitic chair near the hot tub. The wallet belonged to Knudsen, who was a fellow tenant, police report.
"Several articles of his clothing were also found along the way," officers say. "Mr. Kord admitted to having alcohol and marijuana prior to the incident."
According to court records, Knudsen was charged with driving while suspended in Washington County in 2011, and also faced assault and criminal mischief charges here in 2007.
