Milwaukie motorcylist seriously hurt in Portland crash
A Milwaukie man is still battling life-threatening injuries from a Portland crash, police said Oct. 9, more than a week after the initial incident.
Robert "Red" Henderson, 64, was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle Monday, Sept. 30, when he collided with a 2007 Nissan Armada SUV in the Lloyd District. Authorities said Henderson was traveling north on Grand Avenue near Multnomah Street, while the SUV was driving west on Multnomah and had reached the intersection.
Henderson collided with the driver's side of the SUV and was seriously hurt in the crash. The other driver, a 39-year-old woman, was not hurt and remained at the scene. Police declined to identify her.
Police said that investigators determined that the traffic lights were cycling at the time and have not determined which vehicle had the right of way.
