Guelsdorf, 49, wrote in an email Sunday that he and Martineau "will work together in a position the be defined next September as we start up practice," possibly as an assistant coach or an associate head coach.

"I'm very excited to work with one of the best coaches in the Northwest and be part of one of the best junior college programs in the Northwest," Guelsdorf wrote. "The proximity to my home and the ability to see some of my youngest daughter's games made the job even more appealing."

Guelsdorf, who stands eighth among Oregon high school girls' basketball coaches with 451 career wins, was ousted as Oregon City's coach last month after a dispute with school administrators.

In 15 seasons at Oregon City, Guelsdorf guided the Pioneers to 13 league titles and six appearances in the OSAA championship final, winning state titles in 2004, 2009, and 2014.
