Man stabbed outside Fred Meyer in Cornelius
A 33-year old man was stabbed outside the Fred Meyer located at 2200 Baseline St., in Cornelius on Friday morning, March 9, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies are still searching for the suspect, 29-year old Samuel Lund of Hillsboro.
The Sheriff's Office responded to an alleged stabbing near the garden center entrance of the store. The suspect fled the scene but was identified as Lund.
Beaverton, Hillsboro and Forest Grove police assisted in searching for the suspect, with the Hillsboro Police Department deploying a K-9 team, according to a report from the Sheriff's Office. However, they were unsuccessful in locating him.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies were led to believe that Lund and the victim knew each other, based on initial information, the Sheriff's Office said. However, the Sheriff's Office said it does not believe the suspect is a threat to the public.
Lund has an unrelated warrant out for his arrest from a previous case.
Members of the public are advised to call 911 and not approach Lund if they see him. Anyone with additional information on the investigation is encouraged to contact 503-629-0111.
