Reward offered in 2017 homicide
The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help in solving a 2017 homicide that occurred in East Portland.
At 11:03 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, officers responded to reports of a shooting and car crash on Southeast 157th Avenue, north of Southeast Stark Street.
When officers arrived, they found a white SUV that had been involved in a crash. They approached the vehicle and located 33-year-old Kacey Adam Platt suffering from traumatic injuries. Emergency medical responders arrived and determined Platt had died at the scene. The Oregon State Medical Examiner said he died of a gunshot wound.
As officers spoke with witnesses in the area, others searched the neighborhood with K9 teams. No suspects were found.
Crime Stoppers of Oregon offers cash rewards of up to $2,500 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in any unsolved felony crime. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
