Aloha makes quick work of Gophers
Gresham could not slow down the Aloha offense during a 56-6 football loss Friday night.
The Warriors piled on seven first-half touchdown to take a 49-6 lead into the break when Sir Charles Mitchell returned an interception 44 yards for a score.
Gresham's only points on the night came on Ethan Evans 32-yard catch from Michael Regan II midway through the second quarter.
Austin Pick led the Gophers ground game with 11 carries for 56 yards, while Evans came up with a team-high four catches for 67 yards.
Aloha pushed the game to running-clock status after Alex Reid ran in for a touchdown and a 50-point lead late in the third quarter.
The Gophers made two visits to Aloha's side of the field in the fourth quarter.
The first trip ended with Aloha's Tomas Salceda Hernandez breaking through for a sack deep behind the line of scrimmage followed by a high snap on the next play for another sizable loss.
Gresham's final threat came after Elis Cassanova Treloggen pressured the Aloha quarterback, who was chasing a high snap. Gophers' teammate Gage Cota followed on the play, and made the fumble recovery near the midfield logo.
Gresham QB Zach Kaufman kept the ball on a run through the middle to convert 4th-and-1, but the drive stalled at the 25-yard line after Hernandez broke through for another sack.
