See Broadway Rose Theatre Company's Cajun version of 'Beauty and the Beast' The play runs July 11 through 14 with morning performances

SUBMITTED PHOTO  - Broadway Rose Theatre Company will present Beauty and the Beast, a childrens musical production, playing July 11 through 14 at 11 a.m.  Performances will be held at the Deb Fennell Auditorium located at 9000 SW Durham Road in Tigard. Tickets are $12 for those over the age of 18 and $10 for those under and can be purchased by calling the Broadway Rose box office at 503-620-5262 or online at This retelling of the much-loved story about inner beauty, acceptance, and love comes to life on stage with beaucoup charm and uniquely Cajun flair. Deep in the bayous of Louisiana, a girl named Angeline finds herself trapped in the castle of a fearsome beast. By learning to see and cherish his kindness, generosity, and intelligence, she learns to love him despite his grizzly appearance and makes some unexpected friends along the way. Ca cest bon! The show is perfect for little ones who love the theater or first-timers and runs approximately 50 minutes with no intermission. The audience can meet the cast after the show. Its fun for the whole family. With book and lyrics by R. Eugene Jackson and music by David Ellis, Beauty and the Beast is directed by Annie Kaiser with musical direction by Jeffery Childs. The show features an adult cast with children from Broadway Roses drama camp performing in the ensemble. Kira Batcheller will play the role of Angeline and Nate Ayers will play the Beast.
