Save big on advance admission and carnival ride wristbands for the Oregon State Fair

Now through Aug. 23 at participating Oregon Safeway and Albertsons stores you can save on adult fair admission and major carnival rides. Safeway and Albertsons grocery stores are out to save fair goers some series money on State Fair fun. Five dollars

will buy an adult or a child ticket from now through Aug. 23 while supplies last.

Advance purchase carnival ride wristbands are available for $37.50 through Aug. 23 at Safeway and Albertsons locations. The normal fair time price for this wristband is $50.

Visit Safeway stores located at 401 A Ave. and 17779 S.W. Lower Boones Ferry Road in Lake Oswego and 22000 Salamo Road in West Linn.

CCAA recruiting artists for AEP program

Clackamas County Arts Alliance has released a call to artists for its Artist Exhibit Program (AEP) for 2019. This opportunity to open to emerging and experienced artists and art groups who live or work in Clackamas County. No prior exhibit history is required.

CCAA has 18 venues to exhibit art throughout the county. Two- and three-dimensional art will be accepted. Deadline to apply is 11 p.m. Aug. 23.

Love to sing? WL Community Chorus needs you

West Linn Community Chorus invites all those who enjoy singing to consider joining them. The chorus is a four-part, non-audition chorus which performs a wide variety of choral music from all over the world. Rehearsals for the fall season, culminating with holiday concerts, begin Aug. 30. The chorus rehearses Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 19200 Willamette Drive in West Linn. Rick Estrin & The Nightcats to play

Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, with special guest Lloyd Jones, will play at Alberta Rose Theater, 3000 N.E. Alberta St. in Portland at 8 p.m. Sept. 7. Estrin won three prestigious awards at the 2018 Blues Music Awards in Memphis. He was named Best Traditional Blues Male Artist, Band of the Year and his song "The Blues Ain't Going Nowhere" was named Song of the Year. Portland's Lloyd Jones opens the show. Tickets are $24 in advance and $29 at the door. Minors are allowed with parents.
