LGPC to kick off concert series Oct. 6

Lake Grove Presbyterian Church will kick off its 2018-19 concert series with Shout for Joy, All the Earth, a hymn festival led by organist Jeff Wood. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the church sanctuary and features the 100-voice Sanctuary Choir leading the congregation in new and familiar hymns from around the world.

Wood, known for his creative hymn interpretations, will be joined by percussion and flute to lead this joyful hour of singing.

The festival is free and open to all. Other concerts planned for the season include the annual Bells and Brass Christmas concert, a Kids' Concert featuring a playful church mouse, and Justice and Joy which features the Sanctuary Choir and full orchestra. WLHS Class of 2019 to present Holiday Home Tour

Mark your calendars for the annual Holiday Tour of Homes, hosted by the senior class at West Linn High School taking place from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 2. Attendees can tour five homes decorated for the holidays. Tickets are $25 per person and will go on sale at the end of October. Proceeds benefit the substance free graduation party for the Class of 2019.

Birding class offered at Rogerson Clematis Garden

A class to teach people how to attract birds to your backyard will be offered Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at Rogerson Clematis Garden, 125 Rosemont Road in West Linn. Attendees will learn how to attract birds with trees, shrubs and perennials and how to provide food and cover for their comfort and safety. Cost of the class is $25 per person. Creative Spirits Gallery puts out call for artists

Creative Spirits Gallery, housed at West Linn Lutheran Church, has opened its application process to artists to be considered for the 2019 exhibiting season. Artists are encouraged to visit wllc.org/creative-spirits-submission-process.html where they can apply and read the policies of the gallery. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 15. The theme selected for this year's exhibits is Earth: Home. Exhibits will be on display for two months and generally include a collaborative hanging process.
