Local students earn honors in college, Oregon Connections Academy to host event

Local students make Wheaton Dean's List

The Jessica Beighle and Alexander Vlaisavich were both named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2019 semester at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.

Wheaton College is a coeducational Christian liberal arts college noted for its rigorous academics, integration of faith and learning, and consistent ranking among the top liberal arts colleges in the country.

Oregon Connections Academy hosts event in Wilsonville July 11

The state's longest running and largest virtual public charter school is hosting a series of information sessions this summer for families interested in a flexible, individualized approach to education. A free session is planned for Thursday, July 11 in Wilsonville.

Oregon Connections Academy (ORCA) provides the modern learner access to a personalized, flexible education, with advanced technology and exceptional teachers anywhere there is an internet connection.

Families are invited to attend one of the many in-person and online information sessions planned over the next several weeks to learn more about Oregon Connections Academy. These events provide parents the opportunity to meet with school staff and ask questions to determine if virtual school is a good fit for their student. The next in-person event is scheduled for:

Wilsonville In-Person Information Session, 6:30 p.m., Thursday July 11 at the Oregon Connections Academy Satellite Facility, 30485 SW Boones Ferry Road, Suite 102, in Wilsonville.

Local student makes President's List at Cal Poly Pomona

Natalia Perry, a local student who graduated from Lake Oswego High School in 2016, earned a place on the President's Honor List at California Polytechnic University Pomona. She is currently studying kinesiology.

Earning the distinction of a spot on the President's Honor List at Cal Poly Pomona signifies that Perry has demonstrated exceptional academic standing during the 2018-2019 academic year.
