63rd annual event July 19-21 to include fireworks, boat races, run, rides, parade and more

COURTESY PHOTO - The Old Time Fair has kept up with the times, adding new events to keep the 63-year-old festival fresh. The PJs to Pancake run was added a few years ago. Sign up now for this year's run. Though this year marks the 63rd annual West Linn Old Time Fair, it is far from antiquated.

In the past several years the Fair Planning Volunteer Committee added new attractions and events to each day of the three-day festival.

We now enjoy Friday night fireworks over the Willamette River, cheer on our favorite crew Saturday afternoon at the We Gotta Regatta — a race of boats made entirely of recycled materials — and get active with the kids at Sunday morning's PJs to Pancakes Fun Run, Dash and 5K Walk/Run.

The lumberjack exhibition has always been a worthy spectator attraction and it can now be experienced interactively too. Climb a pole, throw an ax, roll a log or try your hand at double bucking. Sorry kids, no chainsaws!

All the other family favorite fun is still offered including the carnival rides, old-time baseball game, parade, car show, pie eating contest and the Mutt and Pet show. Get the full schedule of activities and entertainment online at westlinnoregon.gov/oldtimefair/fair-schedule-0.

The West Linn Old Time Fair is held at Willamette Park, July 19 through 21. Plan ahead, advance registration is available for the parade, fun run and boat race at westlinnoregon.gov/oldtimefair.
