James Paul Patrick
James Paul Patrick passed
peacefully October 29, 2018, in
Woodland, Washington. Jim was
born in Ephrata, Washington to
Gordon and Wilma Patrick on
November 23, 1928.
A memorial will be held
Saturday, November 17, 2018 at
11:00 am at Grace Community
Church, Woodland, Washington.
He graduated from Auburn
High School in 1947. His career in
the trucking industry began with Gresham Transfer and
then moved on as a co-owner of Sandy Truck Line. His
partners in the business Ted Garlock and Marguerite
Kehrli together moved thousands of pounds of freight
from Portland to local business. He later worked for
Columbia River Truck, Silver Eagle & Easter Oregon
Fast Freight. He also became a consultant advising
small truck lines on state and federal regulations.
At one time Jim was President of the Gresham Area
Chamber of Commerce and later the Sandy Chamber.
He also served as President of the Local and Short
Haul Carriers Conference of Oregon Association and
the board of Pacific Inland Tariff Bureau. Jim valued
his friends, coworkers and neighbors. Always willing to
lend a hand. Jim had a great sense of humor and rarely
had a complaint.
Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Patrick of 35
years. Children: Michael (Sue) Patrick, Laurie (Larry)
Winkler, Molly Knudsen, Andy Anderson, Linda
Schultz, Jack (Kandi) Anderson, Joe Anderson;
Sister Jean Yuratich; 14 grandchildren, 19.5 great
