Seattle opened a four-game series at Los Angeles Angels and scored six runs in the first four innings; all but Ryon Healy had a hit among starters

CRUZNelson Cruz hit a three-run homer and Mike Leake allowed four hits in seven innings as Seattle beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-2 Thursday in the first game of a four-game series at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

Leake allowed only one run while striking out five and walking one. Justin Upton homered off Leake, but it was 6-0 at that point.

Robinson Cano singled in the first run, and Ryon Healy made it 2-0 with a first-inning sacrifice fly. Healy contributed despite being the only Seattle starter without a hit in the 12-hit attack.

With the score 3-0, Cruz hit his three-run homer in the fourth inning.

Cruz went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Mike Trout had two doubles for the Angels.

The Mariners (80-66) and Angels (73-74) play again at 7 p.m. Friday. Seattle's starter has yet to be announced, as the Mariners will likely pitch relievers. Matt Shoemaker (2-0, 3.45) pitches for Los Angeles.
