Victim identified in Sunday crash
A driver died in a single-car crash in East Portland on Sunday.
The victim is identified as Adrian L. Longmire, 46. He was the 21st traffic fatality of the year in Portland. During the same time last year, 24 people died in crashes within the city limits.
According to police, at 5:23 p.m. on Aug. 5, East Precinct officers responded to the report of a crash in the 11700 block of Southeast Stark Street. When officers and medical personnel arrived, they located a blue Ford Thunderbird that had collided with a pole.
Emergency medical personnel found an adult male inside the vehicle. He was not responsive and emergency medical personnel transported him to an area hospital for treatment. After the man arrived at an area hospital medical personnel determined he was deceased.
Based on preliminary information, medical personnel believe the man may have died from a medical condition that occurred prior to the collision.
