Sign up for Portland Tribune's daily email alerts
For the past several years, the Portland Tribune has distributed an email to readers, once per week, highlighting some of the top stories on our website and in our printed newspaper.
Beginning soon, we want to offer that newsletter five days per week.
Throughout the week, the newsletters will give readers insights into several of the Tribune's most important stories and a few you may have missed, as well as best-bets from our Sports, Life, Business and the opinions of your neighbors and community leaders.
Each Friday, we'll focus exclusively on things to do over the coming weekend.
"My household is much like that of many readers," Portland Tribune's Managing Editor Dana Haynes said. "My wife and I work long hours at our jobs. We don't have the time to leisurely pursue the news like we once did. For us, an email every morning, with links to several stories, curated by an editor, helps give us a good thumbnail sketch of the media we follow. We get a sense of what the biggest (or strangest) stories of the day might be. We can read them over coffee before rushing off to work; or wait to scan them over our hasty lunches; or read them at leisure in the evening. Those morning emails are the launching point for much of the news we consume."
