Vancouver man jailed for sex with teen
Michael Robert Luna, 22, of Vancouver, Wash., is being held at Clackamas County Jail on accusations that he engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 22, near Tupper Road and Creekside Loop in Sandy.
A Sandy officer reported Luna and the girl were unclothed in a parked vehicle when they were discovered. Police said the girl, when interviewed, described meeting Luna via Snapchat and had been in a "sexual relationship" with him for the past two months. Snapchat is a mobile messaging application frequently used on cellular devices, allowing people to trade messages via photos, videos and text.
Police said Luna confessed in his interview and was transported to the jail that same morning. Luna was allegedly aware of the teen's true age.
Luna is accused of seven counts of third-degree rape and one count of third-degree sodomy. His bail is set at $50,000, according to Clackamas County Jail records.
Police are still investigating and additional charges may be filed.
