Pushing for peace
In an effort to promote global understanding and world peace, the Interact Club — a service club at West Linn High School — and the Rotary Club of West Linn, unveiled a Peace Pole at Cedaroak Park Primary May 31.
The high school club, in conjunction with the Rotary, plants one Peace Pole every year, and presented this year's gift to Cedaroak and the greater West Linn community.
So far, there have been more than 100,000 Peace Poles placed in 180 countries. The Cedaroak Peace Pole is the third pole the club has installed in West Linn. There is one at the high school and one at City Hall.
