Tyrone S. Woods Golf Classic set for Saturday at Stone Creek Golf Club
Golf is great enough on its own, but golf for a good cause? C'mon.
That's what's ahead in the annual Tyrone S. Woods Golf Classic, set for Saturday, June 22 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Oregon City.
Woods was an Oregon City High School graduate and wrestler who graduated in 1989. He later served as a Navy Seal, eventually losing his life while serving as an independent contractor during the attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012.
The Tyrone S. Woods Golf Classic serves as a fundraiser for the Tyrone S. Woods Wrestling Foundation, a non-profit, all-volunteer organization seeking to provide financial and charitable assistance to youth wrestlers and wrestling programs.
Registration is open now at tswwf.org and costs $135 per person or $475 for a team of four; registration must be completed prior to event. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf at Stone Creek (14603 S. Stoneridge Drive) as well as contests, prizes, a buffet dinner, a silent auction and beer carts.
Check-in begins at noon Saturday with a shotgun start to follow at 1:30 p.m.
The Tyrone S. Woods Wrestling Foundation is a 501(cX3) nonprofit BIN: 37.1794400.
